The Coast is Queer at the Big Book Weekend
Mon 27 Apr 2020
Juno Dawson and Patrick Ness in conversation with Katherine Webber
The Coast is Queer is our radical new festival dedicated to LGBTQ+ literature – a collaboration with New Writing South. We’re delighted that The Coast is Queer will be presenting a special event at 4pm on Sunday 10 May as part of the virtual Big Book Weekend.
Join author Katherine Webber as she meets with two leading lights of fiction for young adults for a discussion about writing, reading and finding your place in the world.
Juno Dawson is a journalist, screenwriter and bestselling writer of young adult fiction and non-fiction, including This Book is Gay, Meat Market and her brand new novel Wonderland. As well hosting her Lovely Trans Literary Salon at the Marlborough, Juno was one of the featured writers at The Coast is Queer at The Spire in 2019.
Patrick Ness has written three novels for adults and six for young adults including The Knife of Never Letting Go, A Monster Calls and his latest smash, Burn. He has won the Carnegie Medal twice, the Costa Children’s Book Award, and the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize amongst others.
This event will take place online – sign up to watch over at the Big Book Weekend website.
