Marlborough Productions receives NPO status

We’re delighted and relieved to share that Marlborough Productions has received NPO (National Portfolio Organisation) status for the first time from Arts Council England. This core support, running from 2023 to 2026, enhances our mission to be a catalyst for intersectional queer culture and community, in our home city of Brighton & Hove, across the UK and internationally.
This funding allows us to continue delivering our flagship projects including New Queers on the Block, Radical Rhizomes and Producer Gathering. Our programme will continue to centre queer voices, decolonise and revolutionise the industry, and promote leadership by building capacity in our communities.
We want to thank the hard work of the Marlborough Productions team, our trustees, our partners, friends, the artists, audiences and the wonderful communities we work with in reaching this milestone.
In sharing this positive news, we also acknowledge that this has been a really tough funding round and many artists and organisations didn’t get the decision they were hoping for. We are committed to continuing our collaborative approach that builds solidarity and cooperation across the sector.
Marlborough Productions’ Executive Director David Sheppeard and Creative Director Tarik Elmoutawakil said:
