TRAP (Rehearsed Reading)

Marlborough Productions presents TRAP, a rehearsed reading of a new play by Emma Frankland.

A twisted love story in blood spattered rainbow wings. As a heist goes wrong at Pride, two trans lovers struggle to keep the outside world at bay and discover that the real monsters are lurking within themselves.

“We have to be there tonight. We have to do something that really matters. We’re fighting the wrong fights!

“Our ancestors spoke out, during the Aids Crisis, at Stonewall.. it’s a cycle. Why do we attack our friends and neighbours, and all the while we let the folk who are doing the real damage walk free?”

Emma is an award winning writer, theatre maker and performer, whose work is often playfully destructive, and gloriously irreverent. Over the past decade, Emma’s status has been established as a prominent and innovative English theatre artist, whose work has often focussed on issues around gender identity and politically motivated performances.
