On Men, Women and the Rest of Us
Kate Bornstein, 2016
Exploring the notion of a not-man, not-woman identity in a world that demands we be one or the other.
Kate Bornstein’s trailblazing artist-activist’s beguiling introduction to life beyond binaries was a witty and tender journey through a quarter century of writing about transgender experience. Moving freely between poetry and video, theory and comedy, this autobiographical performance was an affirmation of spirit for sex and gender outlaws everywhere.
Working with Contact Manchester, Southbank Centre, Centre for Sexual Dissidence at University of Sussex and Amy Lamé we presented the iconic trans Kate Bornstein for the first time in Brighton & Hove.
